Our Intermediate Hurlers have progressed to the next round of the Cork Intermediate Hurling Championship, following victory over Argideen Rangers in Brinny. The foundations for victory were laid in the first half, with some excellent performances against a very strong breeze. A Shane Kelly goal proved the difference in the first half, with Argideen never able to bridge that gap. In the second half, Argideen showed their battling quality against the wind, to ensure that the Mayfield lads had to work hard for their win. In the end, it was Mayfield's better use of the wind, and work rate against the wind which proved the difference. Coach Seamus Lawton and the selectors will have plenty to work on for the next round.
