Academy

**Mayfield Gaelic Academy has begun for the 2017 season. Training will take place on Friday nights from 5:45-6:45. Please spread the word**

Mayfield Gaelic Academy moves from strength to strength with each passing week. The coaches put the kids through their paces every Friday night in order to prepare them for upcoming games and competitions.

In 2015, our club was awarded a category silver in the Lee Flag Initiative by Rebel Óg, the underage division of the Cork County Board. The initiative is designed to improve standards of the underage coaching system by offering recommendations on where clubs can make improvements on coaching standards and performance every year.

This great achievement is due to years of hard work by the underage volunteers in the club. They constantly work to improve the coaching structures in place at the club in order to increase participation in our games and the overall skills of the players. This in turn will hopefully lead to prosperous times in the future at both juvenile and adult level.

Fully certified coaches take each session, which are designed for the kids to get active, make new friends, and have fun playing and learning our national games. It caters for boys and girls, aged 5 to 10. New players are more than welcome and parents are encouraged to get involved with coaching, organising, sponsorship of events or whatever is possible.
